About Southwest Sunshine –
At the turn of the century, J. Bret Marchant’s family settled in the Big Horn Basin area of Wyoming and Montana where Arnica, a plant native to Montana, grows wild. Bret watched carefully and learned as his father followed an old Native American tradition – gathering Arnica and other natural herbs to produce a soothing healing gel to treat cuts, bruises, wounds and burns.
In 1972 the family moved to Arizona. Bret’s father found that the herbal gel used in the harsh winters of Montana also was effective for dry itchy skin found in the desert areas of Arizona. Working together with an organic chemist, he formulated a unique blend of Arnica, Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Rosemary, Watercress and Saponins for the treatment of most skin irritations.
Bret still follows the old custom and returns to Montana each summer to harvest Arnica in its natural environment. “While the herbs and other natural ingredients we use in our products help heal the skin, they also help the skin look and feel better. Natural beauty is reflected through healthy skin.” With further research the synergistic herbs found in the gel were developed into the base for new products to produce an entire herbal skin care system. These quality products were successfully marketed to companies, exclusively packaged, and sold under various names across the country.
